Event Details
Come join us in this guided tour with NASA personnel and hear about what scientists and engineers do at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) here in Pasadena, California! We will accommodate up to 100 students and interested professionals.
Speakers: -Dr. Shannon Statham graduated with her PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech, and she is currently the Group Supervisor of JPL’s Environmental Dynamics Test Lab.
-Leilani Trautman is a Master’s student studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. She is interning at JPL on the Mars 2020 mission and her work is contributing to her M.Eng. thesis at MIT.
-Jordan Ticktin is a Quality Assurance Engineer and professional space geek at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
-Ota Lutz is the lead for STEM Elementary and Secondary Education at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
-Lan Dang is an Operations Engineer specializing in science data system operations and large scale data processing. She spends most of her time on the command line of various remote Linux systems
-Jules Lee graduated with her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University. At the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory she started her career as a summer intern and is currently working as a navigation engineer.
She.Codes seeks to bridge the gender gap in STEM, with an emphasis on Computer Science and Engineering. We support and encourage our fellow students, providing a sense of community, work to dismantle the untrue stereotype that CS/engineering is not a career for women, and advocate to have women more equally represented in the field of technology. We welcome all who seek to help us pursue that mission.
